Committee Changes

Last week after much deliberation I informed committee members of my decision to stand down as GBBA chair.

I have always held the view that in taking a position on the committee you do so to use your skills and experience to make a difference and to aid the development of the sport and those taking part in whatever roll.

I feel whilst my vision for the GBBA going forward remains strong, as stated in my last update additional support and new blood is required to bring fresh eyes and new skills to support the way ahead and to enable time and energy to be given to the full development of the GBBA and not just the League.

It is true COVID has to some degree impacted on us all and disrupted the flow.

The decision is also based on ongoing health irritations which are draining my energy levels mentally and physically.

At last evenings committee meeting ( which I did not attend, which felt rather strange given it was at ours! ) and in line with our league rules a new chair was appointed from existing committee members.

Ian will now take over the chair but will retain responsibility for officials development.

Jenny will remain as Secretary.

Dave will in addition to his Web role take over league matters ie fixtures etc.

Cass in addition to his role will take over the running of the Charity Cup and donations.

In conclusion two things, one I wish to thank you all for your amazing support for Dexter’s Charity Cup, you are amazing and two, I wish you much success and enjoyment of the game be it as a player, administrator, official or coach.

The NBL Comes To Gloucester

Kings have there first home NBL game at St Peter’s this Sunday with a 2 .30 pm tip off.

Change of Venue

Due to roadworks around the Sharks' home venue, the matches between Sharks and Kings ( 101 and 162 ) have had their venues swapped, that is :- Match 101 will now take place next Monday at St Peters RC High School in Gloucester, and match 116 will take place at Marling School in Stroud.
